Philtral columns and cupid's bow structure

Smile dynamics and tooth show

Skin quality and perioral lines

Vascular anatomy and risk profile

Medical history and contraindications

We will also discuss your goals and expectations, alternative approaches including no treatment, potential risks and variability of outcomes, and the possibility that treatment may not be appropriate. If treatment is not in your best interests, we will advise against proceeding.

Gummy Smile Considerations

In some patients, the upper lip may elevate significantly when smiling, revealing more gum tissue. If appropriate, we may discuss options that influence muscle activity or lip position.
Suitability depends on:

  • Your personal goals and comfort level
  • Degree of lip elevation

Treatment planning is individualised. We generally prioritise subtle structural refinement rather than dramatic enlargement. Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.
